The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has decided to join its university counterparts in the ongoing strike, as the Federal government has declined in meeting the agreement entered with the body in July 2013.
ASUP national president, Comrade Chibuzor Asomugha confirmed that the union was going on with the strike and it is a total strike.
It would be recalled that the union had in July suspended its nationwide strike following the level of progress made in negotiation with government and the intervention of the Joint Senate and House of Representative Committee on Education, but the government has failed to fulfill its promise to the group.
