Pastor Kumuyi, Daminabo, Proffer Solution to Corruption War in Nigeria

For the battle against corruption to be a forgotten issue in the country, the General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor Williams Folorunso Kumuyi alongside the Ogun State Overseer of the Church, Pastor Edison Daminabo, have provided panacea for the prolonged problem of Nigeria, which is corruption.

Pastor Kumuyi, who was in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State for a one-day crusade, identified with the suffering masses and ascribed the surge in suicide incidences in the country to economic recession.

Addressing journalists in a press conference, Pastor Daminabo submitted that neither the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) nor the rules of Law can bring Nigeria out of the quagmire, but God’s divine intervention will suffice.

“We cannot fight corruption with the EFCC and the laws alone. There must be spiritual dimension to the fight. It is only God that can change the hearts of people to turn away from corruption,” he stated.

The cleric further argued that except God arrests the corrupt leaders and changes them for good, corruption would continue to thrive in the country, stressing that those who engage in corrupt practices needed a “spiritual rebirth, which would prompt their genuine repentance.”

While charging Christians to bring God back to Africa, particularly in Nigeria, since the people have neglected God for too long, he added “that is why it seems like we are not winning the war against corruption because we cannot fight it with only laws and the EFCC. We need something more than that. We need prayers and we need God to arrest the minds of the corrupt leaders.”

According to reports, the Ijebu- Ode crusade is slated for Friday, May 26 at the Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu-Ode where no fewer than 500,000 participants are being expected.

He maintained that the country was going through difficult times and nothing was working, insisting that no one can help the country expect God.
