Following the dispute that ensued between the Ogun State government tax officials and workers of the Living Faith Church a.k.a. winners Chapel, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has intervened in the feud, over the attack on tax officials by workers of the church.
The Ogun State Government had last Friday held a press conference to condemn attack on its tax officials by workers of Oyedepo inside the church premises. The government had stated that its officials went to the Kingdom Heritage Nursery School, owned by Oyedepo, inside the church’s headquarters at Ota, to demand for the payment of outstanding taxes by the school. But to their surprise, the tax officials were assaulted by workers in the school and detained for more than three hours.
Following the uproar generated by the assault, Obasanjo, who has a large farm, schools and a university in Ota, it was learnt, brokered a meeting between the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun and Bishop Oyedepo, to resolve the crisis last Sunday at night.
