It appears the former Governor of Jigawa State, has jumped bail,
while standing trial for allege financial misappropriation committed
during his tenure.
According to the Nigerian Pilot newspaper, the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Interpol have began a manhunt
on the embattled former governor of Jigawa State, Senator Saminu Taraki.
The former governor is wanted on allegations of abandoning his trial before
a federal High court sitting in Dutse, Jigawa State, where he is standing trial
for corruption charges amounting to N36 billion which he allegedly
misappropriated while in office.
