As Nigeria joins the rest of the World in celebrating World AIDS Day, on December 1, a shocking revelation emerged from Mr Segun
Olulade, the Chairman of Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Health,
who said that no fewer than 470, 435 residents of Lagos State had been affected by the HIV virus.
Olulade, who is a member of the APC, representing EPE-II, called the House to assist people living with AIDS.From the theme of 2015 World AIDS Day :
“Getting to Zero: Zero new infections; Zero discrimination; Zero AIDS-related
deaths; the lawmaker called for spirited efforts from relevant agencies to stem the spread of the virus.
The figure, according to NAN, was obtained from the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency(LSACA), indicating that Lagos State has got a lot to do in combating the spread of the disease.
