As one of
the oldest government hospitals in Nigeria, the National Orthopeadic Hospital,
Igbobi, Lagos (NOHIL) is celebrating her 70th anniversary in grand-style to
impact the health of Lagos citizens meaningfully.The 70th anniversary
celebration, which commenced with a press conference on Monday, 14; had a
Christmas Party for the physically and mentally challenged on Tuesday 15; there
will be Walk for Health from the hospital premises to Yaba Busstop/ Free
medical screening, for the residents of Somolu and its environs, on Wednesday
16, followed by Public Lecture on Thursday, and Thanks giving Service on

Addressing
press men on Monday, the Medical Director, NOHIL Dr.Olurotimi Odunubi, said the
hospital is poised to give excellence service to the public after the platinum
anniversary, appreciating all donors to the institution since inception,
especially, Sir Mobolaji Bank Anthony, Adebutu Kessington Foundation, Santana
Group, among others.
Odunubi who adduced dwindling government subvention to the hospital, as a major reason for minimal increase in patients fee, said the institution is still open to receive all injured patients, with or without payment, adding that their speedy recovery is of ultimate interest to the caregivers, as payment can be made later.
