Toyin Hamzat Assassinated in Ogun

Information reaching me today confirms Hon. Toyin Hamzat, the former Ikeja Local Government Chairman, PS Ministry of Health, and Ex Special adviser to Governor Babatunde Fashola on Health, was shot dead sunday evening at Sagamu, Ogun State.

It was gathered that Mr. Toyin Hamzat was shot in the head along Shagamu expressway around 9.00pm yesterday night, when he was returning from his country home, a magnificent fortress he just declared opened about 6 weeks ago before he was cornered by some wicked gun totting assassins.

Toyin Hamzat who was spotted at the Danjuma’s colourful party in Abeokuta last Saturday and was preparing  for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s much awaited Chieftaincy  title ceremony in Abeokuta before he was cut down .

However, a high ranking chieftain of the ACN in Lagos State, has said that Toyin's death has nothing to do with the Asiwaju's chieftancy ceremony.

According to him, “Toyin's death has nothing to do with Asiwaju's chieftancy. Toyin spent his weekends in his country home in Aiyepe which is 5 minutes drive to Sagamu and was going from Sagamu Club to his house when he was killed. 

"We were scheduled to spend the weekend together in his country home in Aiyepe until I changed my mind. If I didn't, we would have been together at the time of his assasination”..CKN
