Dr Olusola Saraki was buried in his country home in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.A son of the deceased former strongman of Kwara politics, has given indication of what caused his father’s death.
Olaolu Saraki, the last child of the deceased, told reporters at the late politician’s residence in Ikoyi, Lagos, that his father battled cancer for years.
“He has been battling with cancer for about 5 years. He was fine yesterday morning. He said his prayers but he died around 6a.m. yesterday,” Olaolu said.

Dignitaries present at the prayer for his burial were the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo and the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed, Aliko Dangote,Wala Babalakin, Sen Dajuma Goje,Kola Abiola,Dr. Haliru Muhammed, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, Sheikh Farooq Almiskin.
Also present were members of his grieving family, which included former Senator Gbemisola Saraki and former Governor of Kwara state, Dr Bukola Saraki.
The Minister for Interior, Abba Moro, Minister of National Planning, Usman Shamusideen, and the former Minister of Defence, Alhaji Haliru Bello,were also present.
