Following the clamour against the introduction of the N5000 note, members of the House of Representatives on Tuesday has passed a
resolution asking the Central Bank of Nigeria to suspend the proposed
introduction of a N5000 note.
The proposal, which has received the backing of President Goodluck Jonathan, has been a subject of heated debate in the polity.
Also controversial has been the CBN’s plan to convert N5, N10 and N20 notes to coins next year.
