...And She Caught The Culprit

Ahead of the International Women's Day, which is Thursday 8 March, I'm nominating this Super-Brave-BRT-Lady Pilot for Promotion.

For anyone who might have seen this blue BRT along Ikeja GRA this morning, here is the story behind it.
The BRT, driven by a Lady driver was on its way  from Agric, Ikorodu to Maryland. On getting to the bypass at Maryland which leads to her last bus stop, the driver slowed down due to a little traffic. As the traffic started moving, she moved the bus forward and all of a sudden, a Pickup Van just squeezed itself via the right side of the bus and shattered the side mirror of the BRT.

While passengers keenly watched out for the man driving the van to gently park to resolve the issue, the guy demonstrated the nature of most Naija Danfo drivers, by navigating the next available bypass to evade paying for the damage.

The Super-Courageous-Lady Pilot on the other hand, never gave it a second thought as she went all out after this wicked pickup driver, knowing full well that the cost of the damage will be deducted from her salary, if she could not produce the person responsible.

As the drama continues, none of the passengers would have taught that we'll get to the Ikeja Police College before we could catch this criminal of a guy. Imagine the courage and boldness of this Lady, driving such a long bus, in chase of a guilty male runaway driver?

From Maryland to GRA, to other streets around the GRA axis, the guy continued in his escape mission, and the lady kept on after him, in fact, at one point,  some guys in the bus were telling the driver: " Eleyi ti lojo, fisile".While some kept nudging her to go ahead saying:"Sebi GRA lowo, kosibi tofelo, amarimu".

Eventually, on approaching the Police College Ikeja, there was a little hitch, and the lady started blaring the horn of the bus for vehicles to block the pickup, and there and then, the Super-BRT -Lady driver caught the culprit and the Police in front of the College arrested him, and drove both vehicles into their compound to fine the guy.

What a feat for a woman driver?
Such an uncommon courage, bravery, boldness deposited in a woman!

The takeaway from this early morning drama is that women should stand up for the rights, through proper and polite means.
Enough of gender imbalance in our society, it's high time we embraced gender equality.

Although women shouldn't be competing with men,but when the situation warrants women to act,  they are to gently swing into action, as its usually said, #WhatAManCanDoAWomanCanDoBetter.
