Obadare's Funeral: "We Don't Want Our Father Idolised"-Family

by Topsy Oba

Going by the way and manner in which the late Apostle Timothy Obadare was respected by his followers, the family is already nursing the fear that they won't want the late prophet to be idolised after burial. Although August has been fixed for the burial, according to his family in Akure.
Pastor Abraham Obadare, one of the sons of the late cleric said that arrangements were still ongoing to organise a befitting burial for their father in August.

Obadare died a month ago at his residence in Akure.
The son said that the place where their father would be buried was yet to be determined.
He however said that the family would not want their father to be idolised.
“There have been suggestions on where the late evangelist should be buried but we are still praying on it.
“We will definitely want him to be honoured, but not to be idolised because we do not want them to shift focus from God.
“The burial will be done in such a way that people can go to the place and pray if they wish and for the purpose of history as the case may be,’’ he said.
Obadare added that the burial arrangements would be communicated in due course.
